Records of children aged 18, requiring MBH services, from the pediatric department of a significant tertiary hospital were scrutinized, covering the period between January 2017 and December 2019, within our review. In our analysis, we performed both descriptive statistics and chi-square tests.
Utilizing statistical techniques such as trend analyses and logistic regression, we evaluated the trends of patient visits, emergency department length of stay, admission rates, and factors contributing to prolonged EDLOS and inpatient admissions.
Out of 10,167 patients, 584 percent were female, with a median age of 138 years, and 861 percent were adolescents. Visit counts saw an average growth of 197% annually, ultimately reaching a 433% surge after three years. A cross-sectional, web-distributed survey, designed for descriptive purposes, was fielded over a two-month timeframe.
