In the East China Sea, during August through October 2021, a study involving 399 Branchiostegus samples (187 B. japonicus and 212 B. albus) collected by deep-water drift nets within the specified latitudinal and longitudinal ranges (27°30'-30°00' N and 123°00'-126°30' E), focused on measuring 28 morphometric otolith characteristics and 55 morphometric shape characteristics for species differentiation. Molecular Biology Variance analysis and stepwise discriminant analysis (SDA) were subsequently utilized to process the data.
