This cross-national, longitudinal study involved children, adolescents, and young adults under 21 years old (grouped hereafter as 'youths'), all of whom had type 1 diabetes for at least six months and contributed continuous glucose monitor data from 2016 through 2021. Participants were selected for the study, based on their inclusion in the international Better Control in Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes Working to Create Centers of Reference (SWEET) registry. Data originating from 21 countries were included in the research.
